Venus in Wanderland: Libra Season, Sacred Beauty & the August Eclipse - Yoni Wanderland

Venus in Wanderland: Libra Season, Sacred Beauty & the August Eclipse

There are seasons that ask us to do more.

And then there are seasons that ask us to soften enough to receive.

August carries a little of both.

Venus moves from the precision and devotion of Virgo into Libra, a sign she knows very well. Libra brings us back to relationship, beauty, pleasure, reciprocity, and the delicate balance between how much we give and how much we allow ourselves to receive.

And later in the month, the lunar eclipse brings a very different invitation:

What are you ready to release?

Welcome to August's Venus in Wanderland, our monthly exploration of Venus, the feminine body, and the crystals we can work with as we move through each season.

This month, we are working with two energies that may seem opposite but actually belong together:

Rose Quartz for receiving.

Black Obsidian for releasing.

Because sometimes creating more balance in our lives requires both.

Venus in Libra: The Art of Receiving

Libra is often associated with relationships, harmony, beauty, and balance.

When viewed through the feminine body, Libra speaks to reciprocity.

Many women are incredible at giving.

We give to our children.

Our partners.

Our work.

Our friendships.

Our homes.

We anticipate what everyone needs, sometimes before they even ask.

But how comfortable are we receiving?

Receiving attention.

Receiving help.

Receiving pleasure.

Receiving rest.

Receiving without immediately feeling that we need to give something back.

Venus in Libra gives us an opportunity to notice where that exchange has become unbalanced.

Not so we can judge ourselves.

Simply so we can become aware of it.

Beauty as a Feminine Practice

There is another part of Libra energy that I love: beauty.

And I don't mean beauty as perfection.

I mean beauty as something we intentionally create around ourselves because of how it makes us feel.

Lighting the candle before your practice.

Putting fresh flowers beside your bed.

Choosing the beautiful lingerie even when nobody else will see it.

Playing the song that changes your mood.

Taking an extra five minutes with your body instead of rushing into the next thing.

These little moments matter.

Beauty can become a way of telling the body:

I'm here.

I'm listening.

You deserve my attention too.

And this is where our crystal for Libra season comes in.

Rose Quartz Rosie: The Crystal of Love & Beauty

If there is one crystal that beautifully embodies the softness of Venus in Libra, it is Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz has long been associated with love, compassion, tenderness, and the heart.

But I especially love working with Rose Quartz around the theme of receiving.

Our Rose Quartz Yoni Egg Rosie can become a physical reminder that your practice doesn't always have to be about strengthening, achieving, releasing, or fixing something.

Sometimes your practice can simply be about allowing.

Before beginning, hold Rosie over your heart.

Close your eyes.

Take a few breaths.

And ask yourself:

Where am I giving more than I am receiving?

Don't rush to answer.

Notice what comes up.

Then bring your attention into your body and allow that question to become the intention for your practice.

The August Lunar Eclipse: What Are You Ready to Leave Behind?

Later in August, the energy changes.

Eclipses have traditionally been viewed in astrology as periods of transition, endings, revelations, and accelerated change.

And rather than trying to predict exactly what an eclipse will bring, I prefer to use these moments as an opportunity for reflection.

Because sometimes we already know what needs to change.

We have simply been avoiding the conversation.

Maybe it is a relationship dynamic.

A habit.

A belief about yourself.

An expectation you've been carrying.

A version of you that once served you beautifully but doesn't quite fit anymore.

The question isn't necessarily:

What do I need to get rid of?

I prefer:

What am I ready to stop carrying?

There is a very different feeling in the body when we ask it that way.

Black Obsidian Shadow: A Crystal for Protection and Release

With the eclipse energy moving through August, Black Obsidian becomes a natural companion.

Traditionally associated with grounding, protection, truth, and shadow work, Black Obsidian carries a very different energy from Rose Quartz.

Rosie says:

Soften. Receive.

Shadow says:

Look. Listen. Be honest.

Our Black Obsidian Yoni Egg Shadow can be used as part of a slower, more reflective practice when you want to explore what you're ready to acknowledge or release.

But I want to be very clear about something:

You do not need to force anything.

You don't need to search for trauma.

You don't need to make yourself cry.

And you certainly don't need to have some enormous emotional breakthrough for your practice to be meaningful.

Your body sets the pace.

Always.

Sometimes the practice is simply sitting quietly enough to realize:

I don't want to carry this anymore.

And that awareness is enough.

A Ritual for August: Receive + Release

You can practice this anytime during the month, or around the lunar eclipse if that feels meaningful to you.

Create a quiet space.

Light a candle.

Put your phone away.

Sit comfortably and take a few slow breaths.

If you have both crystals, place Rosie in one hand and Shadow in the other.

If you only have one, that is completely fine.

Choose the crystal you're naturally drawn to.

Then ask yourself two questions:

What am I ready to receive more of?

And:

What am I ready to stop carrying?

You can journal your answers.

Speak them aloud.

Or simply sit with them.

There is no need to make the ritual more complicated than that.

The magic is in your presence.

Your August Practice

August isn't asking you to become a different woman.

Maybe it's simply asking you to notice where you've moved too far away from yourself.

Where have you been giving without receiving?

Where have you been maintaining harmony at your own expense?

What are you carrying because you've carried it for so long that you've forgotten you have the option to put it down?

This month, let your practice become a place to return to yourself.

Rosie for what you are ready to receive.

Shadow for what you are ready to release.

And your body somewhere in the middle, reminding you what balance actually feels like.
